MY THREE RULES :
1) Don’t hide. (you aren’t going anywhere) If nothing else, atleast don’t lie about yourself —or you could be shopping for RCA when you really want Sony. Honesty is not always just a matter of “right & wrong“, it can take you to the people and places where you belong. How are you supposed to get that which you want or need if folks don’t know how or who you are? And people have a powerful need to feel “OK” about themselves, but you want to be careful lying to yourself because before long even you won’t know who you are. Plus if you don’t know who you are you might not know what reality is. __—In fact, IF you can figure out that which is wrong with you, advertise it! (or atleast tell SOMEONE) Cuz if you can have the courage and strength to be honest and vulnerable, others will respect you and wanna help you out . . . . . .
2) You are either a victim or a survivor. Know that when things don’t work out, that getting mad because in the back of your mind you’ve decided that you are someone’s sad helpless victim is NOT necessary. You CAN choose to think of yourself as a ‘toughass mother funking survivor’ who can calmly walk away and say, “I get to be me. They have to be them. That’s punishment enough”. Anger is a defense mechanism that occurs whenever your “set of thoughts that defines reality” to you (AKA: Your Way of Thinking) is threatened or called into question. —In other words, it starts as FEAR. Many rarely realize it, but the more pain & humiliation one can survive, the less you have to be afraid of, the less others can control you, and the more strong & free you truly are… .. . . .

3) Learning to truly feel other people’s Joy will diminish the importance of one’s own joy. (and take away The pain of “Life’s daily Tests”) (It can take practice, but) you can learn to be happy for others in place of being jealous of them. (Most people aren’t born this way so you may have to fake it till you make it, so to speak.) Jealousy is the ego screaming: “ME ! ME! ME! I’m the most important person in the universe!!”. NO one is that_important. That’s kid stuff. It is a fear-based emotion (insecurity) that causes folks to try to add to one’s self from “The Already“ (with excessive thoughts of importance or superiority) instead of connecting outwardly toward “The More” (AKA: everyone else —which is a FAR more easy way to add to yourself and grow).
If you paint a monkey pink the others will kill it. It doesn’t mean that there is anything wrong with that monkey. They just don’t understand it. And you can punch someone who’s malfunctioning. Congratulations: You just cured the symptom. It takes love and patience to cure the actual problem. Hate and anger are NOT powerful. They just increase your will or intent. It’s your Will or Intent that is powerful, not the hate or anger. They just compel you towards motivation. If you think Hate is powerful then I challenge you to tell of a situation you’ve heard of an atheist who was willing to lay down their Life for hate. It just doesn’t happen. Yet you hear of it happening all the time for Love.
Usually when folks hate others its because deep inside they do care about others and what they think and wound up doing a thing or two they aren’t proud of and therefore can’t stand themselves and are thus jealous of folks who do like themselves. Jealousy and hate are selfish emotions that cause one to try to add to one’s self from the already with thoughts of superiority instead of connecting outwardly toward “The MORE” —everyone else (as said before). Don’t waste your time on thoughts of superiority; you’ll miss out —because just about everyone’s a genius at something. You just have to figure out what that is. Revenge is a satisfaction one must chase over and over again for it never lasts. There is never anything left over afterward like there is if add instead of subtract —build or create or teach instead of destroy or exclude. You always have something to look back on and say, “I DID that or I ADDED that !”. “And even if it gets taken away, I can do it again (and again)”. You don’t get that with revenge. There’s never anything concrete left over. In fact I would be amazed if you could even remember the first time you got even with someone or if you did if it still made you smile. Yet folks almost always remember just about every time they ever really “connect” with someone. It‘s safer to be “Happy“ than “Proud“…
